• Self catering LODGES,
Our swimming pool, with a view of the river and Portugal, is available to guests together with sun loungers and a shaded area.
The gate is kept locked for the safety of children with a key in each lodge. A small barbeque area is adjacent to the pool, and the large garden, full of fruit trees and shrubs adds to the air of seclusion.
With relaxing views over the fish pond towards the Rio Mino and Portuguese hills, this is a favourite area with all guests. It is a shaded corner where they can meet and have a delicious cool glass of Albariño before dinner; or just sit and quietly contemplate our peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
This room houses the reception area and private courtesy bar. It can be used by guests as a casual meeting area and games room, and has the ideal ambience for in house wine and port tasting. For larger parties, and by arrangement, the area is suitable as a mini-conference or meeting room
Right next to the swimming pool, you find a comfortable barbecue area.

What our Guests say...
Beautiful cottages in a stunning location.
My husband and I booked for a week and wished we’d booked for more.
As it was Galicia and late in the season we expected changeable weather and were prepared with jumpers and macs, but when the mist cleared in the early mornings we had a warm sunny seven days.
A wonderful place to kick back and soak up the sun, swim in the pool and enjoy beautiful views of Portugal from the terrace or explore fabulous sea and river beaches just a short walk or drive away.
We stayed in one of the Casitas, which were cosy and well equipped. We like to eat in as well as sample local cuisine and the kitchen had everything a master chef needs and Robin was on hand to provide any extras needed.
Robin was a friendly and accommodating host, nothing was too much trouble and he pointed us at some of the best locations for fabulous food, great walks and amazing views, a mine of local information. We were so taken with the area, he even took us to visit some properties for sale
I’m not a dog or cat lover, but, much to my children’s amazement, I fell in love with Robin’s dogs Broc, and Dylan and cats Minnie and Pixie who all made us feel welcome and at home. Fabulous place. Looking forward to returning.
Beautiful grounds and very welcoming host
Finca Rio Mino was the perfect base for our trip to Galicia.
Our two children never got tired of exploring the garden, having fun in the pool and spending a lot of time with the two friendly dogs Broc and Dylan.
It made a wonderful change to the busy campsites we are more used to in France. Robin is a fantastic host and having an English speaking guide to the area was invaluable, he was able to point us in the right direction to find English speaking pharmacies and doctors that saved us a lot of hassle.
We were lucky to have arrived in the middle of a heat wave so we were able to explore the nearby beaches and the fantastic scenic drives. It is also only a few minutes drive across the bridge to the beautiful villages in Northern Portugal.
The chalets are basic but quite roomy compared to the mobile homes you find in typical campsites, the view from the deck is stunning. Everything was clean and well maintained, Robin was always on hand to help with any queries and even helped fix a problem with the electrics in our rental car.
The pool was always clean and has a secure gate to keep young children safe.
Highly recommended for families.
We really thought we had indeed entered the "Galician paradise" Robin refers to on his website. The finca is a truly magical place with hidden gems aplenty.
On arrival we were greeted by our charming, affable host Robin, not forgetting the gorgeous Broc (Robin's lovable collie) and the quietly reserved Dylan (Robin's other equally lovely dog).
The view over the mino towards Portugal is quite spectacular and, quite honestly, if we'd sat drinking chilled Alborino on the beautiful contemplative patio for the whole week we would have been quite content.
However, the children (aged 6 and 9) stirred us into action and amongst other things we revelled in medieval frivolities in at the Caminha fiesta, stuffed ourselves with grilled sardines at the local shin-dig, enjoyed completed seclusion at the river beach five minutes' walk away, found Robin's secret crystal clear lagoon on the mill walk up the hill side and, as a fitting end to a perfect week, we tantalised our taste buds with mouth watering tapas, each one exquisitely produced at the wonderful local eaterie O Lagar (http://www.lagareiras.com/).
Definitely worthy of its mention in Spain's gastronomy guide.
We often say "we'll be back" when leaving lovely places we've been to but this time it's a definite!
A fantastic holiday in every way! If you want beautiful and breathtaking beaches and scenery, coupled with peace and tranquility but with the option for some thrill seeking then this will be perfect for you!
The website can't really do justice to this magnificent setting. Very picture postcard with the added bonus of glorious weather (most days) and the attention of the hosts Robin and Deb who really do everything they can to make your holiday everything you hoped it would be.
Whether you are travelling with very young children and want a beach and pool 'splashing' holiday, or like us, you have a couple of adventurous teenagers in tow who are looking for an adrenaline rush then this area of Galicia will cater for you!
Try strolling along the sandy banks of the Rio Mino just as the sun dips low, hear the crickets murmur in the long lush grass and sample the delicious food and wine at the local tapas bar..... OR paddle for your life down the rapids in a white water raft and jump from a 15' rock into the river! Whatever you're looking for, this place has it - a little slice of perfection.
